Anime Review: Code Geass & Code Geass R2

Hey guys! :) I just got back from a road trip down to southern California and guess what I did on the way? That's right! I watched the entire second season of Code Geass, Code Geass R2. SO. Now, I can finally do a review on it! Yayy!!

The story begins in Britannia, kind of Europeish (word?). In 2010, Britannia declared war on Japan, completely annihilated it, and called it "Area 11", pronouncing the nickname "elevens" on all the Japanese. The "elevens" are persecuted, beat up, and made fun of by the Britannians. However a few make their way through society.

The main character in this show is Lelouch Lamperouge, a Britannian student.

He lives with his blind younger sister who is unable to walk, due to an assassination attempt on his family that killed his mother and left his sister's legs paralyzed.
When Lelouch (his friends call him Lelou) gets caught in a bad spot, he meets a certain girl who calls herself C.C. who gives him a special power. The ability of absolute obedience. To give someone and order and have it fulfilled.
Armed with his new power, he vows to change Britannia for the better by organizing and leading the Japanese terrorists.
At the beginning, Lelouch's motives are unclear, but as the show goes on, secrets are revealed and things start to get really intense and hooking. Knowing that if people (especially the Japanese) found out that he was Britannian, things could get really bad, he takes on a costume and code name, calling himself "Zero."

Among the show are several other main characters that I can't really delve into without ruining the plot for you, so I'll just tell you who they are. (They're in no particular order, they're just in whatever order they uploaded in)

Professor Lloyd. Head of the technology department in the Britannian Army. Also known as "The Earl of Pudding"

Suzaku Kururugi. Japanese, his father was the Prime Minister of Japan before Britannia attacked. Now he works in the military and goes to school with Lelouch.

The two princesses, Cornelia (top) and Euphemia (bottom). They are like night and day when it comes to personalities, but they love each other anyways and will do anything to protect the other.

Kallen Kozuki. Half Japanese, and half Britannian. Leader of Zero's personal squad and undercover as a student in Lelouch and Suzaku. She doesn't find out about Zero's identity as Lelouch until way later in the story.

Now. Onto the review part.
THIS. SHOW. WAS. AMAZING.
SERIOUSLY.
I COULD GO ON FOR HOURS.
I N C R E D I B L E.
So yeah. That's about it. Haha. Leave you hanging. But in all seriousness, this show really was amazing. The plot was hooking, the ending was magnificent and made perfect sense (mostly), all the characters were likeable... etc. I would put this up in my top 5 favorite anime.

That's all for today! See ya later, folks! ^_^
